The frozen sources connect the old key to fishing

Independent readable sources converge on the chain Fishing Paper → fishing completion → Old Key. A community answer then directs the key back to the fisherman; treat that use as community guidance until the room state matches.

Build the route in order

  1. Use the metal-detector route on the Timesville beach to find the Fishing Paper.
  2. Complete the fishing set associated with the paper.
  3. Confirm that the Old Key appears as the fishing outcome before leaving the route.

Confirm the key, not a generic search result

The key comes from the Endacopia fishing-paper chain, not from a generic “lost key” location. Check the inventory after the fishing completion state. If no key appears, verify the paper and completion conditions instead of searching unrelated rooms.

Supported use and uncertainty

A readable Steam Community reply says to give the key to the fisherman, while the thread frames it as an obscure secret. Because that exact use is community evidence, confirm that the fisherman interaction accepts the item; do not infer a door, lock or reward that the frozen sources do not name.
